Information about AGE Concern's Friendship Services

Befriending, Forget Me Not and the Friendship Circle are important services for older people in the Eastbourne area, offering long term support to lonely,frail or housebound people who live alone and do not have family or friends living nearby.

The Befriending Service covers the Eastbourne, Willingdon, Polegate,  Pevensey  and  Westham areas. Volunteers offer friendship and  encouragement and support for people to pursue social activities they are interested in.

The 'Forget- Me-Not' Service is a telephone befriending service. Volunteers provide a weekly telephone call to have a chat.

The Friendship Circle runs once a week and helps people to make new friends and join in social activities. It meets every Saturday from 10am to 12pm at the Venton Centre.

All the 'Befriending' services are LGBT friendly, with the option of an LGBT volunteer in addition to membership of Eastbourne Rainbow.
