Eastbourne Police has a LGBTQ+ Liaison Officer

PC Vicky Bishop is the LGBT Liaison Officer for Eastbourne Police

Her role is to enhance the relationship between the police and LGBT people in Eastbourne, to build people's trust and confidence in coming forward to report hate crime incidents.

Vicky also works to develop ways to improve the police's service to the LGBT community.

Vicky does not actively investigate the reported incident, but by getting in touch,victims can discuss the incident and ways forward for the matter to be reported.

Also Vicky has good knowledge of and links to many service providers within the LGBT community and can make recommendations for appropiate support services.
